Sophia Konstantoni, 3rd Kindergarten of Melissia, Athens, Greece - Relationship with the Curriculum

The eTwinning project “A Clean World for Our Future” is directly connected to the new Curriculum for Preschool Education in Greece (Government Gazette Β’ 687/10.02.2023), which places strong emphasis on environmental awareness and sustainable development. The project promotes responsible attitudes towards the environment and encourages young children to develop values and behaviors that contribute to a cleaner and more sustainable future.

Connection to Thematic Fields

Thematic Field B: Child, Self and Society

This field promotes actions that support individual and collective well-being, environmental awareness and sustainable development. Through the project activities, children explore the impact of human choices on the natural environment and develop attitudes of responsibility and critical action, aiming to create a cleaner world.

Thematic Field C: Child and Positive Sciences

This field focuses on observing natural phenomena, living organisms and the properties of materials. The project encourages children to develop a positive attitude and responsible behavior towards environmental protection, helping them understand the consequences of improper use of resources and human intervention in nature.

Transversal Skills

Personal empowerment, social responsibility, active citizenship and a critical stance towards sustainable development run across all thematic fields. These transversal skills support children in understanding their role and responsibilities in maintaining a clean and healthy environment for the future.

Connection with the Separate Programme “Environment and Education for Sustainable Development” (Government Gazette, 2022)

The project is also aligned with the Programme “Environment and Education for Sustainable Development”, which has been integrated cross-curricularly in kindergarten education since the school year 2022–2023, further reinforcing its educational relevance and coherence with national educational priorities.
